چکیده

In a supplier-customer relationship, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) is currently used to monitor the customer’s inventory replenishment. However the integration of VMI implies consequences on the collaboration process that links the different planning processes of each partner. This paper proposes a unified view of the VMI: beyond the short term pull system inventory replenishment, partners have to share their vision of the demand, their requirements and their constraints to fix middle/long term common objectives for each article concerned by VMI. There are many ways to specify these links between VMI and partner’s planning processes.

An Inventory Model for Deteriorating Items Using Vendor-Managed Inventory Policy

In recent researches, vendor managed inventory (VMI) policy is rarely considered for deteriorating items.   This study considered the supply chain partner’s collaboration via a VMI system and provided an EOQ model for a two-level supply chain (single supplier - single retailer) to examine the inventory management proceedings for VMI and non-VMI supply chains. By a new approach in modeling, the ...

Introducing the Time Value of Money in a Non-consignment Vendor Managed Inventory Model

Vendor managed inventory (VMI) is an integrated approach for buyer–vendor coordination, according to which the vendor (supplier or manufacturer) decides on the appropriate buyer’s (retailer’s) inventory levels. The time value of money has not traditionally been considered in evaluating VMI supply chain’s total inventory cost in any studies up to now. Therefore, in the present study a new model ...

A parameter-tuned genetic algorithm for vendor managed inventory model for a case single-vendor single-retailer with multi-product and multi-constraint

This paper develops a single-vendor single-retailer supply chain for multi-product. The proposed model is based on Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) approach and vendor uses the retailer's data for better decision making. Number of orders and available capital are the constraints of the model. In this system, shortages are backordered; therefore, the vendor’s warehouse capacity is another limitati...

Vendor Managed Inventory of a Supply Chain under Stochastic Demands

In this research, an integrated inventory problem is formulated for a single-vendor multiple-retailer supply chain that works according to the vendor managed inventory policy. The model is derived based on the economic order quantity in which shortages with penalty costs at the retailers` level is permitted. As predicting customer demand is the most important problem in inventory systems and th...

Developing EOQ model with instantaneous deteriorating items for a Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) system

This paper studies the economic-order-quantity model (EOQ) for deteriorating items in two cases (with and without shortages) to evaluate how vendor managed inventory (VMI) affects supply chain. We consider two-level supply chain (single supplier and a single retailer) with one instantaneous deteriorating item. A numerical example and sensitivity analysis are provided to illustrate the effect of...
